Schaumburg Township District Library announces exciting Summer Challenge: Read, Renew, Repeat

Schaumburg Township District Library is excited to announce the start of its highly anticipated Summer Challenge, inviting patrons of all ages to embark on a literary adventure from June 1 to Aug. 1.

This year’s Summer Challenge, named "Read, Renew, Repeat," offers an engaging platform for youth patrons to delve into the captivating world of books while exploring various animal habitats through fun-filled activities. Participants can earn badges as they progress, fostering a sense of accomplishment and discovery throughout the program.

The Summer Challenge isn't just about reading; it's about igniting curiosity and fostering a love for exploration. Whether it's unraveling the mysteries of the rainforest or diving into the depths of the ocean, our program encourages young minds to embark on exciting journeys both through reading and hands-on activities.

"We're thrilled to celebrate Summer with our 'Read, Renew, Repeat' theme for our annual Summer Challenge," said Annie Miskewitch, executive director of Schaumburg Township District Library. "By offering a diverse range of activities and incentives, we aim to inspire a lifelong love for reading and learning among our patrons. And, we want everyone to have fun!"

Participation in the Summer Challenge is open to all ages, with tailored incentives for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Youth and Teen participants will have the option to earn multiple prizes throughout the program, while Adult participants will be rewarded with a campfire mug, while supplies last, upon completion.

The Summer Challenge offers online engagement and traditional reading logs to make participation convenient. Patrons can preregister for the program now at SchaumburgLibrary.org/challenge, with the reading logs available for pickup starting June 1.

"Our Summer Challenge has always been about more than just reading; it's about fostering a sense of community and curiosity," added Annie Miskewitch. "We encourage families to join us in this exciting journey, as we strive to prevent the summer reading slide and create lasting memories together."
