Jacobs announces four new hall of fame members

HD Jacobs High School recently announced its Class of 2024 inductees into its athletic hall of fame.

This year’s class has three athletes -- Clint Reams, Laura Sommerville and Craig Wojas, and the class includes friend of Jacobs high school athletes, Joe Stevenson, a sports writer at the Northwest Herald who is retiring this year.

Reams, a 2000 graduate, played football at Jacobs. He was an all-conference selection and all-state first team pick in 1999.

Laura Sommerville, a 2001 graduate, was the IHSA gymnastics floor champion in 2000.

Craig Wojas, a 1988 graduate, was a two-time all-conference selection for boys basketball. He totaled 1,204 career points.

Joe Stevenson covered the Jacobs teams and student-athletes, and his writing and dedication to the high school sports community will be remembered by many fans.

The hall of fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Sept. 13 when the inductees will be introduced to the fans at halftime of the home football game vs. Huntley.

Nomination forms are due on March 1, 2025 for next year’s Class and can be found at hdjgoldeneagles.org
