Area Thrift Store Donates to Two Local Organizations

Lake Forest nonprofit thrift store Forest & Found recently made contributions of $20,000 to two area nonprofit organizations. Independence Center of Waukegan provides adults with mental illness the tools they need to achieve their goals of independence. Gigi’s Playhouse of Deerfield provides free educational therapeutic-based and career development programs for Individuals with Down Syndrome, their families and the community. Gigi’s Playhouse is the only network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers.

Forest & Found has raised over $600,000 for organizations that are vital to the fabric of the community. They couldn’t have achieved this without the support of their customers, both through their donations and shopping. Forest & Found remarkets good used items and, with the proceeds, gives their support to local charities.

The store is at 1363 N. Western Ave., Lake Forest. Visit forestandfound.com.
