Hanover Park woman charged with aggravated DUI after crash in Bartlett

A Hanover Park woman was charged with aggravated driving under the influence after a car crash in Bartlett, police said Saturday.

Veronica Rochel, 46, was charged with three felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence on Friday, following the crash at 11:45 p.m. Thursday near Lake Street and Bartlett Road.

Rochel also was charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended or revoked license. She also received two traffic citations for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said.

Authorities said Rochel was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on Lake Street when the vehicle veered into the westbound lanes, forcing an oncoming vehicle to swerve and hit the curb in the eastbound lanes.

Rochel was released ahead of a future court date at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
