Freedom Home Care sponsors 27th annual Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center Benefit Luncheon

Freedom Home Care, a provider of in-home care services, has announced its sponsorship of the 27th annual Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center Benefit Luncheon. This fundraising event, dedicated to supporting health education programs for the community including initiatives like the Living in the Future cancer survivorship program, makes a significant impact in the lives of many.

For the past 27 years, Freedom Home Care has been an ardent supporter of the MRW Benefit Luncheon, and this year is no exception. The event holds special significance for Bob and Sharon Burack, owners of Freedom Home Care, whose deep-rooted connection to the cause spans generations. Bob and Sharon’s parents shared a cherished tradition of weekly breakfast meetings with Myra Rubenstein Weis herself, a testament to the enduring bond between the Burack family and the MRW Foundation.

Bob Burack's father was a professor at the University of Illinois and a firm believer in supporting women’s rights in the workplace. His friendship with Myra Rubenstein Weis and his dedication to her mission have deeply influenced Freedom Home Care’s commitment to this cause. Supporting the MRW Benefit Luncheon and its impactful health education programs remains an honor for the entire Freedom Home Care team.

The MRW Health Resource Center Benefit Luncheon serves as a vital platform for raising awareness and funds to sustain a wide range of health education programs benefiting the local community. From cancer survivorship initiatives to educational outreach efforts, the impact of these programs is immeasurable, touching the lives of countless individuals and families.

This year's event theme was “Mental Wellness, New Beginnings.” The event took place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 15 at the Exmoor Country Club, 700 Vine Ave., Highland Park. The schedule included a silent auction followed by the luncheon.

The keynote speaker highlighted the future of healthcare and cancer treatment, focusing on personalized care and treatment tailored to the individual's specific makeup and needs. This presentation reinforced Freedom Home Care’s belief and mission in personalizing care at home and customizing the care of their clients based on their needs.

Freedom Home Care extended its gratitude to the MRW Foundation and all participants for their dedication to this cause and looks forward to supporting this event again next year.
