Two Cary-Grove High students awarded chamber scholarships

The Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce recently awarded two $2,000 business scholarships to students at Cary-Grove High School.

The awards are intended to encourage area students to pursue college interests that might impact local business. Over the years, the chamber has given away more than $65,000 in scholarship awards to local high school students who are pursuing business related studies.

The chamber is proud to make this investment in our local youth who may someday become future business professionals and owners right in our community. They specifically look for students that may want to bring their skills back to the Cary-Grove area.

The class of 2024 high school recipients each received a $2,000 scholarship for college. The scholarships were awarded to William Barcy and Sarah Barklow.

William will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the fall and majoring in finance. He would like to pursue a career as personal wealth manager and aspires to one day be a CEO or CFO of a financial firm or start his own practice.

Sarah will be attending Iowa State University and majoring in advertising. Her career goals include leading a creative team at an advertising firm or a marketing department for a company or nonprofit, and maybe one day having her digital marketing business.

Will and Sarah were extremely involved during their four years at Cary-Grove High School, at both their school and within the community.
