New hires at Downers Grove South

On May 20, the District 99 board of education approved hiring Philip Howard as chief technology officer and Robert Godinez as dean of students at Downers Grove South High School. Both hirings are effective July 1.

Howard has 24 years experience in information technology, including 18 years in education. Since 2019, he served as executive director of technology services at Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95. He previously worked in a variety of technology roles at Elgin Community College.

Godinez, since 2015, has served on leadership teams for several Chicago Public Schools, including Carver Military Academy as a resident principal and at Farragut Career Academy as an assistant principal. He also has been a teacher at Lake View High School and at Morton East High School.
