Crystal Lake’s Immanuel Lutheran School names new principal

Immanuel Lutheran School in Crystal Lake has named Carole Fiesman as its new principal, effective May 27, 2024.

With a proven track record of leadership, Fiesman brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering holistic student development to her new role.

Beginning her tenure with Immanuel Lutheran in 2017 as the preschool director, Fiesman has grown the preschool program more than twofold, giving young students and their families an exceptional first school experience.

Fiesman’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Immanuel Lutheran School as it continues to provide exceptional education rooted in Christian values. With her extensive understanding of educational best practices and dedication to nurturing a supportive learning environment, Fiesman is poised to lead the school toward even greater heights of academic achievement and spiritual growth.

“I’m looking forward to this new opportunity to continue to build a positive school culture where students, staff and parents feel valued,” Fiesman said. “I am excited about collaborating with parents and teachers creating partnerships that lead to success. Mostly, I love that I will be part of all the children’s lives.”

In assuming the position of principal, Fiesman expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated faculty and staff of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in empowering students to reach their full potential.

When asked her educational leadership style, Fiesman described herself as “an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate educator” and “a mentor and advisor who believes that all children can learn and thrive in an environment that is stimulating, comforting and appropriate to their unique talents and abilities.”

Fiesman holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Iowa, Early Childhood certification from Judson University, Colloquy from Concordia University-Chicago. She is a commissioned minister of religion. Her academic background, coupled with her extensive experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership, positions her as a visionary leader capable of guiding Immanuel Lutheran School toward continued success.

The board of directors and the entire Immanuel Lutheran School community extend a warm welcome to Carole Fiesman as she assumes her new role as principal. Together, they eagerly anticipate the positive educational and spiritual impacts she will have on the lives of Immanuel Lutheran students.
