Lakes Community High School Student Wins Car in Raymond Chevy Kia's Driving for Education Program

Raymond Chevrolet Kia is sponsors the Driving for Education program, an initiative dedicated to supporting local students and promoting academic excellence. On Friday, May 17, the dealership celebrated a momentous occasion that coincided with Dealer Principal Mark Scarpelli's birthday, making it a doubly special day for everyone involved.

The dealership congratulates Elizabeth Snyder from Lakes Community High School for her outstanding achievements and the good fortune that followed.

The Driving for Education program, a brainchild of Mark Scarpelli, aims to recognize and reward hard-working students from the community. This innovative program offered one lucky student from Antioch Community High School or Lakes Community High School the chance to win a brand-new Chevrolet or Kia.

The process of selecting the winner is both exciting and transparent. On May 17, Raymond Chevrolet Kia conducted the drawing for the program. A single graduate was selected through a raffle and subsequently announced during a live stream while both Antioch Community High School and Lakes Community High School held assemblies. Each of them demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the academic year, and one deserving student was chosen from this group of diligent students.

The criteria to enter:

• Show a dedication to Scholarship by earning 26 credits.

• Show strength of character by earning O suspensions.

• Volunteer in their community for at least 40 hours.

• Demonstrate responsibility by earning at least 95 percent attendance.

• Achieve a high standard of excellence by earning three capstone credits.

• Show their school pride by participating in at least four extracurricular activities.

The excitement was palpable as the raffle was live-streamed during the assemblies. Elizabeth Snyder emerged as the winner, marking a triumphant moment for her and her family. She was able to visit the dealership to select her new car, a testament to her hard work and dedication throughout her high school years.
