Arts Festival and Wine Tasting returns June 8 to Grayslake

The Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Arts Festival and Wine Tasting on Saturday, June 8.

There will be a variety of vendors featured on Whitney Street, behind the Grayslake Village Hall, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Enjoy shopping while listening to music and enjoying a glass of wine from one of five wineries.

At 10 a.m., the Dance Connection, the Grayslake dance studio, will take the stage, followed by a performance by L-Theory Collective at 11 a.m.

The wine tasting will be noon to 3 p.m.

Under the music tent, students from Chapin Jazz Studio will perform swing, blues and Latin jazz tunes with Bill Chapin on bass and Griffin Fox on drums at noon. From 1:30 to 3 p.m., the Chapin Jazz X-tet will perform tunes by Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, and Duke Ellington, along with their original music. At 3 p.m., the Chapin Jazz Studio Sunday Jazz Jammers perform.

The art event is free. Advance tickets for the wine tastings, which includes a souvenir glass along with five tastings, are $25. Tickets at the door are $30.
