Grand opening ribbon-cutting at Mission Fassion Barrington

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce gathered on Thursday, May 15, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Mission Fassion, a fashion design and sewing school in Barrington. The event was attended by local dignitaries, community members, and business leaders, marking a significant addition to the diverse educational offerings available in Barrington.

Owner of Mission Fassion, Olga Ellwart, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the community's warm reception.

“I am delighted to bring my passion for fashion design and sewing education to Barrington,” she said. “My goal is to create a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students of all ages can develop their skills and express their creativity.”

A graduate of the International Academy of Design and Technology in Schaumburg, Olga has an impressive background in fashion design. Since earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013, she has designed maternity dresses for an Etsy store, organized the successful “Falling for Fashion” show in Niles in 2020, and debuted her fashion label, Relluda. She has also presented at Chicago's “Project Showcase” and opened Mission Fassion from her home in May 2021, which has now grown into a thriving studio in Barrington.

Olga is looking forward to bringing the art of sewing and design to Barrington and the surrounding communities.

Mission Fassion is at 101 Lions Drive, Suite 118, in downtown Barrington. The school offers classes in the evening during the week from 5:45 to 9 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
