Lombard Historical Society and Building Love Amongst Cultures to host Multicultural Art Fair

The Lombard Historical Society and Building Love Amongst Cultures is hosting its second Multicultural Fair on Saturday, June 15, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Sheldon Peck Homestead, 355 E. Parkside Ave. in Lombard.

Shop with local vendors, listen to live music, and participate in children’s activities. The fair’s mission is to provide a platform for artists of diverse cultures to showcase their talents and share their perspectives with the community.

At this family friendly event, they believe that through art they can bridge cultural divides and build stronger connections between people. Decorate a cookie (while supplies last), visit a caricaturist, shop local small businesses and eat at Kravn food truck, all while enjoying performances from local artists.

Vendors and performers include: Kravn Food Truck, Building Love Amongst Cultures, Janay Xavier Essentials, Liz Caricatures, Royal Oils, HrynenkoArt, Libra Rising by Yoali, Jeanine Loechel, Paige Beggs, and Ayebeas Sankofa.

Since inception, Building Love Amongst Cultures is determined to make an impact. The core of its efforts is to bring the team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities. Its mission is to unite the community through building critical consciousness and cultural competence foregrounding the aspirations of individuals.

The Lombard Historical Society endeavors to cultivate a deep appreciation and comprehension of the community's rich history. They encourage visitors to delve into the town’s past through interactive exhibitions, educational programming, and gaining insights from the collections. It is committed to the preservation, interpretation, and celebration of Lombard's past, inspiring a vibrant and inclusive future

The Lombard Historical Society operates the Victorian Cottage Museum, the Carriage House, and the society’s archives at 23 W. Maple St., as well as the Sheldon Peck Homestead (a National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Site) at 355 E. Parkside Ave. in Lombard.

The Sheldon Peck Homestead hosts activities and is open for tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. The Victorian Cottage is open for tours on Fridays and Saturdays at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. only. The Lilac Emporium Gift Shop is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
