Hanover Township Summer Open Gym underway

The Hanover Township Summer Open Gym Program is underway and runs through Aug. 9. This free program is offered at four schools throughout the Township as well as the Izaak Walton Youth Center & Reserve, 899 Jay St., Elgin.

Youth will participate in a combination of team building activities, recreation, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) projects, and arts and crafts activities. Open Gym is designed to give youth a safe, fun, and positive place to go that allows them to make new friends and showcase their skills while being around positive, caring adult staff.

Summer Open Gym runs noonto 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, at the Izaak Walton Youth Center & Reserve as well as:

• Noon to 4 p.m. Mondays for ages 5-14 at Ontarioville Elementary, 2100 Elm Avenue, Hanover Park.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays for ages 5-14, at Sunnydale Elementary, 716 Sunnydale Boulevard., Streamwood.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays for ages 5-16, at Hanover Countryside Elementary, 6 S. Bartlett Road, Streamwood.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Thursdays for ages 5-14, at Oak Hill Elementary, 502 S. Oltendorf, Streamwood.

• Noon to 4 p.m. Fridays for ages 5-16, at Parkwood Elementary, 2150 Laurel Avenue, Hanover Park.
