Wheels, Inc. to lease more than a quarter of Zurich North America headquarters in Schaumburg

Wheels, Inc., a fleet management and mobility solutions firm with a location in Des Plaines, will lease more than a quarter of the iconic 783,800-square-foot Zurich North America building in Schaumburg. The roughly 200,000-square-foot lease comes 11 months after Zurich announced it’s willing to rent about 360,000 square feet of the building that opened in October 2016 along Interstate 90.

Heinen’s Grocery Store looking to Naperville for its next location

The Naperville strip mall that once housed a Butera grocery store could soon be torn down to make way for a new grocer. Naperville planning and zoning commissioners on Wednesday unanimously backed plans for a Heinen’s grocery store on East Chicago Avenue near Pembroke Road. The proposal still must be approved by city council members.

‘Farm to foam’: Tangled Roots craft beer-focused restaurant in Vernon Hills

An Ottawa-based company is bringing its “farm-to-foam” craft beer-focused concept to Vernon Hills. Tangled Roots Brewery & Restaurants’ fourth location, Craft Beer and Kitchen, is scheduled to open Wednesday at Mellody Farm, Milwaukee Avenue and Route 60 in Vernon Hills.

Restaurants, retail, pickleball all part of plan for area near Charlestowne Mall

St. Charles Plan Commission members heard plans for a proposed commercial development near Charlestowne Mall on the city’s east side at their June 4 meeting. The proposed development, known as Fox Haven Square, would be constructed on the vacant 7.5-acre lot near the northeast corner of Kirk Road and Route 64, just west of the Charlestowne Mall, between Jewel-Osco and the existing bank and former On The Border buildings.

Changing times have prompted a Rosemont-based developer to propose a riverside rental apartment community in Vernon Hills. Conor Commercial Real Estate is proposing a 288-unit apartment building and 19 rental townhouses on 8 acres between heavily traveled Milwaukee Avenue and the Des Plaines River just north of the American Way intersection.
