Mount Prospect to host Mental Health Matters event

Mount Prospect’s Human Services Department will hold its fourth annual Mental Health Matters community even from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Edwin & Elsie (Meyn) Busse “Pocket Park,” Busse Avenue and Emerson Street.

The theme of the event is “Feel Good Friday” to highlight the many ways one can take care of their mental health. The free and family-friendly event will feature kid’s activities, wellness demonstrations and a resource fair with local mental health agencies and wellness experts.

The village is collaborating with The Hope for Us Network. The group’s CEO and founder Carl Evans will emcee the event. Ryan Shannon, a Navy veteran and mental health advocate, will share his journey on wellness and resilience.
