Wheaton’s Gary UMC wraps graduates with afghans

Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton recently gave high school graduates afghans knitted by church members. The hope is that as the graduates move on to the next stage of their lives, they feel wrapped in love.

Graduates also received Dr. Seuss’s book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” signed by church members.

The church at 224 N. Main St. offers 9 a.m. summer Sunday worship, complete with Kids’ Church and nursery care, plus livestreaming and recorded worship at garychurch.org. At 10 a.m., you can enjoy a coffee hour called “Special Blend.”

The church will resume its 10 a.m. Sunday school hour for all ages and 11 a.m. worship on Sunday, Sept. 8. With deep roots in the community since 1853, Gary Church has vibrant music, kids, youth and adult ministries, plus opportunities for local, national and global missions. For more information, go to garychurch.org or contact the church office at office@garychurch.org.
