Glen Ellyn police to stuff a squad car with food pantry donations

Glen Ellyn police will collect donations for the Glen House Food Pantry on Saturday, June 15.

The department’s “Stuff the Squad Car” event looks to load up a patrol vehicle with donations of nonperishable food items to help stock the pantry. The drive-through event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the village’s police station, 65 S. Park Blvd.

Farther north on Park Boulevard, the pantry operates out of a newly renovated Craftsman-style house with a welcoming red front door. Formerly the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, the organization serves people who live, work or go to school in DuPage County.

The pantry updates a list of most-needed items on its website and Facebook page. This week’s top needs are salsa, queso, ketchup, mustard, relish and other condiments and spices.
