‘All Shook Up’ comes to Naperville’s Summer Place Theatre June 21-30

Summer Place Theatre’s latest production, “All Shook Up,” will be hitting the stage on Friday, June 21.

Showtimes will be 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through June 30 at Naperville Central High School’s auditorium, 440 Aurora Ave. in Naperville. Enter through Door 24. Free parking available.

In this jukebox musical, it’s 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides Chad (played by Geon Ruffin), a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. Natalie, a young mechanic (played by Nina Iraci-McMahon), is instantly smitten and dresses up as a man named “Ed” in an attempt to get closer to him.

Loosely based on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

The cast features: Jeff Harding as Jim Haller; Taylor Weisz as Sylvia; Autumn Dunn as Lorraine; Jake Teeling as Dennis; Abigail Brock as Miss Sandra; Sadie Wynne as Mayor Matilda; Ethan Drover as Dean Hyde; Dave Scriven-Young as Sheriff Earl; Danielle Barry as Henrietta/Ensemble; and Miles Kolby Meador as Warden/Ensemble.

The ensemble includes: Julie Abud, Ethan Chan, Kailey Christine, Nancy Gallman Witzke, Gwendolyn Gronke, Delainey Guiney, Mark Hasselo, Leslie Kane, Joseph Lord, Sean Lynch, Kim Schomer, Tina St. Angelo Wetzel, Jake Tedeschi, and CeCi Wynne.

The director is Jorge Bermudez, with music director Ali Kordelewski, choreographers Kailey Krigas and Jeanne O’Connell; assistant director Miles Kolby Meador; rehearsal accompanist Kristina Bonn; and producers Taylor Weisz and Julie Abud (who is also dance captain).

On the production team is technical directors/master carpenters Timothy Lieb and Jeff Schmela; scenic/program designer Mike Frale; costume designer Kathleen Musselman; lighting designer Tyler Dawson; sound designer Bill Ryden; properties designer/stage movement & intimacy coordinator Taylor Weisz; assistant scenic designer Adam Milne; stage manager Madalyn Quitter; assistant stage manager Bella Boudreaux; photography Alec F.
