Arlington Heights Garden Club, Garden Walk & Unique Boutique: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, starting at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum grounds, 110 W. Freemont St. Six gardens will be featured. Advance tickets are $15 online or in person at the Arlington Heights Farmers Market Saturday morning at Freemont and Vail streets, or at Village Bank, Northwest Highway branch or the branch at Rand and Arlington Heights roads. Tickets are $20 on the day of the walk. Admission is free to the Unique Boutique on the museum grounds; vendors will sell items for the home and garden and experts will be on hand to answer questions. Visit ahgardenclub.com/gw-ub.

Oak Park and River Forest Garden Walk: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Oak Park Conservatory, 615 Garfield, Oak Park. Enjoy a self-guided tour of eight unique, private gardens. The walk is sponsored by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory and the Garden Club of Oak Park and River Forest and benefits the missions of both organizations. Park Ridge Garden Walk: Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Main Garden, 212 S. Fairview, Park Ridge. 29th annual walk features six inspiring gardens, including two Beautification Award-winners, native gardens, a rain garden plus worm composting. Seed Swap: Noon to 2 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month through September, at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights. You can drop off, pick up and trade seeds, plants, flowers and vegetable harvests all season long. Library card not required. Sunday Garden Series: 1 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at McHenry County College Demo Garden, 8900 Highway 14, Crystal Lake. Join for the new “Sunday Series” of free talks in the Demonstration Garden, just off parking lot C. Each topic is presented by a different Master Gardener. Lombard Garden Club, “Using Heat to Defeat Pests”: 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, Helen Plum Library, 411 S. Main St., Lombard. Horticulturist Sharon Yiesla will discuss how the accumulation of heat influences plants and insects, and how to use that information to limit pest damage to plants. Public is welcome; no charge. Historic Pullman Garden Walk: 10 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Historic Pullman Foundation Exhibit Hall, 11141 S. Cottage Grove, Chicago. Enjoy one of the guided walking tours in the residential neighborhood within the Pullman National Historical Park or use the self-guided garden map to stroll at your own pace. Lincolnshire Garden Club Garden Walk: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 20. “A Walk in ‘The Shire’ Garden Walk” will feature five gardens and is a fundraiser for the club, which uses it to beautify local outdoor spaces. Advance tickets can be purchased for $20 at https://lincolnshiregardenclub.com/garden-walk. Tickets on the day of the walk are $25. All tickets will be picked up between 1 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. July 20 at Spring Lake Park, 49 Oxford Drive, Lincolnshire.

Private Garden Tour: John Richter has opened his private garden in Warrenville to share the beauty of his various grafted trees and variegated bushes, thousands of day lilies from 10 different hybridizers, and over 750 different varieties of hostas, as well as numerous beautiful sculptures. There is no charge for you to go and stroll through his garden — just call him at (630) 393-3279 to schedule a time.
