Enjoy craft beers, cars and music at Downers Grove Rotary Grove Fest

The Downers Grove Rotary GroveFest will again be transforming downtown with live music, craft beer and cocktails, a carnival, car show, and more this weekend.

The festival will be 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 20; 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 21; noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 22; and noon to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23. Admission to the entertainment area and beer garden is $5 for ages 16 or older.

On Saturday, Sevan Multi-Site Solutions will put on the fifth annual Rotary GroveFest Craft Beer & Cocktail Fest from noon to 4 p.m. With the help of Orange & Brew, this year’s fest will feature Downers Grove hometown breweries Alter and Emmett’s, along with 17 other local craft breweries. Pierce Tavern will be serving the craft cocktails from the Makers Mark Camper. You need a $5 wristband for access to this event. It is $2 for every 3-oz. tasting. There will be musical entertainment by April & Kevin at noon, followed by DJ Dirty Donuts at 1:30 p.m.

The music stage opens on Thursday with Taylor Dance Party from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., followed by the headliners ARRA at 8:30 p.m.

On Friday, Valius will open the festival at 5 p.m., followed by Too Hype Crew at 7:15 p.m., and Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press at 9:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Jonny Lyons & The Pride will take the stage at 5 p.m., followed by Hello Weekend at 7:15 p.m. and 7th heaven at 9:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the entertainment stage will open dancing, featuring the VERSA5 from the Versafied Dance Company at 12:45 p.m. and the Bentley Academy of Irish Dance at 1:15 p.m. The Garage Band U will perform at 2 p.m., followed by the Downers Grove South Jazz Sextet at 3:30 p.m. The festival will close out with Trippin Billies at 5:45 p.m. and Mike & Joe at 8 p.m.

On Sunday morning, check out The Festival of Cars from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no preregistration to enter your car; three trophies will be awarded and there will be a split-the-pot.

Also on Sunday, Community Christian Church of Downers Grove will host worship at 10:30 a.m., open to all.

All profits from the annual Rotary GroveFest go to many local, regional, national and international causes, including 27 nonprofits organizations that support causes in and around Downers Grove.

Parking, handicapped access locations and other amenities are located at various points around the downtown area.
