Fireworks, music and food on tap for North Aurora’s Independence Day Celebration

The village of North Aurora is preparing for its annual Independence Day Celebration, which starts at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at North Aurora Riverfront Park, 25 E. State St.

Food & drinks

With a community picnic vibe, the community is invited to bring blankets and chairs, food, and grills. The Cream King Ice Cream Truck will be on site at the park.

Lincolnway; El Coronel, 200 Butterfield Road; Harner's, 10 W. State St.; Hill's Yum Yum Shop, 200 Butterfield Road; Juqulita's Tacos, 18 W. State St.; Kappy's, 120 Butterfield Road; Moka Coffee, 24 S. Lincolnway; and 7-Eleven, 2 S. Lincolnway.

This event is bring your own drinks, which includes alcohol. The village hall back parking lot will be open until 4:30 p.m. for drop-offs only where you can drive in to unload supplies; no parking. No vehicles are allowed in the back parking lot after 4:30 p.m. for the safety of all.

Live music

From 6 to 9 p.m., the party band Good Clean Fun will be performing in the park, with a playlist of party hits that span every decade.

Parking and shuttles

This year there will be shuttle service provided. Shuttles will run from 5 to 11 p.m. with locations at Blessed Sacrament Church and Schneider Elementary School. Shuttles will run approximately every 15 minutes between locations.

Parking is available at North Island Park and various village lots along State Street. This year, there is no parking allowed at the Route 31/State Street lot. This area will be for viewing with pedestrian access only. Handicap parking will be available at the front village hall lot.

Fireworks

The fireworks will launch at approximately 9:30 p.m. Note: there is no viewing from the bridge.
