Buffalo Grove police team with 7-Eleven to reward good behavior

Buffalo Grove police are teaming with 7-Eleven for Operation Chill, through which officers will give away coupons for free Slurpees to children as a reward for good deeds, constructive activities and acts of kindness.

Those deeds could include helping others, deterring crime, wearing a bike helmet and other acts of safety, or by participating in a community or police-sponsored event.

“Rewarding positive behaviors fosters better relationships between our local children and our police officers, and it promotes a culture of kindness,” Chief Brian Budds said in a news release.

Each coupon can be redeemed for a small Slurpee drink at participating 7-Eleven stores.
