Performer to appear as the ‘Wisconsin Angel’ at Glen Ellyn History Center

Performer Jessica Michna will visit the Glen Ellyn History Center on Saturday, June 29, to portray a widow whose support for soldiers wounded in the Civil War made her known as the “Wisconsin Angel.”

Michna will appear as Cordelia Perrine Harvey, Wisconsin’s former first lady. Harvey’s husband, Louis, drowned in 1862 after less than three months in the governor’s mansion. Her meetings with President Abraham Lincoln culminated in the building of three hospitals in Wisconsin, according to a program description.

Michna’s performance is set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St.

Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for Glen Ellyn Historical Society members. For details, call (630) 469-1867 or visit gehs.org.
