Pot, scale found during Des Plaines traffic stop

A Milwaukee man was arrested Sunday night after Des Plaines police found 716 grams of cannabis, a scale and plastic bags in his SUV during a traffic stop, authorities said in a news release.

Lavassar Falls, 28, is charged with manufacturing, delivering or possessing cannabis with intent to deliver Cannabis, possession of cannabis and not having a valid driver’s license.

The encounter occurred about 9:45 p.m. on the 700 block of South Des Plaines River Road. An officer stopped Falls because a cover was obstructing a license plate on his Chevrolet Trax, according to the release.

In addition to the criminal charges, Falls was ticketed for operating a vehicle with a registration cover, police said.

He was brought to Cook County court for a detention hearing, but no information was available about that hearing.
