Naperville house fire causes $800,000 in damage

An early morning house fire in Naperville today caused an estimated $800,000 in damage and left the home uninhabitable.

Firefighters were called to the two-story, single-family home on the 2700 block of Willow Ridge Drive just before 4 a.m.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire from the rear of the home extending to the attic.

All four residents were able to escape before firefighters arrived and no injuries were reported.

It took nearly 90 minutes for firefighters to bring the fire under control. They were on scene another three hours extinguishing hot spots and performing salvage operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
