Rotary Club’s Pizzas, Pitchers & Puzzles competition returns Aug. 29 in Prospect Heights

The Rotary Club of River Cities is seeking the area’s fastest eating-solving-gulping crew for a fun, late-summer fundraiser.

The club will hold its second annual Pizzas, Pitchers & Puzzles competition Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Rob Roy Golf Course, 505 E. Camp McDonald Road in Prospect Heights.

These are the rules: eat an extra-large pizza, assemble a 300-piece puzzle and drink two pitchers with three friends as fast as you can.

The networking, pizzas, and pitchers begin at 6 p.m. The puzzles will be opened promptly at 6:30 p.m. The event officially finishes at 8:30 p.m., but everyone is welcome to socialize afterward.

Participants must be at least 21 years old. Each team of four will race to finish their family-size single topping (other than cheese) pizza, two pitchers of beer and/or soda, and a puzzle. Prizes will be awarded to the team that finishes first.

Registration is $200 per team. Payment is accepted online at rivercitiesrotary.com. Checks payable to Rotary Club of River Cities may be mailed to River Trails Park District, 401 E. Camp McDonald Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070, Attn: Bret Fahnstrom.

Proceeds will fund educational scholarships and humanitarian projects in the Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, and Prospect Heights communities and around the world.

For questions, contact Bret Fahnstrom at Bfahnstrom@rtpd.org.
