Thousands of snakes part of reptile breeders conference
Thousands of nonvenomous snakes peered from acrylic display cases during the North American Reptile Breeders Conference Saturday at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center.

Brian Potter, a co-owner of the NARBC, said breeders from across the country attend the conference, which features captive-born reptiles and amphibians, as well as tarantulas and scorpions.
The conference is open to the public.
Potter said it’s great for families and kids, offers many educational opportunities, and some of the animals can be held by visitors.

“If you’re into the dinosaur thing, or reptiles in general, this is it,” Potter said.

The conference continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
