Costly credit card scam in Des Plaines
Someone used stolen credit card information to pay for about $5,200 worth of auto repairs in Des Plaines last week, police said Monday.
The credit card information was used at Firestone Complete Auto Care, 783 W. Golf Road, between July 27 and Aug. 2, police said. The female thief also used the victim’s name.
The victim is a Bartlett woman who doesn’t know the person who used her credit card information and name, police said.
The service was booked and paid for online.
