Palatine Township pilots vital records program with the Cook County Clerk’s Office
In response to the closure of the Cook County Vital Records Office at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse, Palatine Township Supervisor Andy-John G. Kalkounos established a great collaboration with municipal partners, Cook County commissioners and the Cook County Clerk’s Office to create a first of its kind, countywide program bridging the service gap for over 250,000 residents.
Palatine Township and the Cook County Clerk’s Office created an easy solution offering online and in-person options to get copies of birth, death and marriage certificates in a safe and secure way for all residents. Palatine Township proudly spearheads this program to ensure our residents receive the necessary resources.
“A special thanks to Inverness Mayor John A. “Jack” Tatooles, Commissioner Scott Britton, the (late) Cook County Clerk Karen Yarborough and Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle for their servant-leader approach to creatively solving problems for our community. I’m hopeful with the success of this pilot program that Cook County can rapidly expand this partnership with other townships across the county,” said Supervisor Andy-John G. Kalkounos.
As the primary source for humanitarian aid in our community, Palatine Township is finding new ways to expand partnerships to solve problems. Visit Palatine Township’s website for more information on how to get copies of your vital records.
“Collaboration between all levels of government is essential to delivering the highest quality of services to our residents. By working together, we can ensure that every community thrives, and every resident receives the support they deserve without the need to travel great distances,” said Inverness Mayor John A. “Jack” Tatooles.
“Making it easier for residents to retrieve critical birth, death, marriage and civil union certificates locally at the Palatine Township Office is part of my vision for making county resources more accessible,” Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton said. “I thank the Cook County Clerk’s Office and Palatine Township for this first-of-its-kind partnership empowering residents to obtain the information they need in a timely, convenient manner. This work is undoubtedly in honor of the late, great Clerk Karen Yarbrough who worked unwavering to provide high quality resident services.”
“The Clerk's Office is thrilled to expand our services through this partnership with Palatine Township Supervisor Andy-John G. Kalkounos to offer customers convenient options for secure online and in-person orders of Vital Records,” said Clerk Cedric Giles. “We thank Commissioner Britton and Palatine Township leaders for their assistance in this new initiative, which will expand and improve services to our customers at the local level.”
