Fan Expo Chicago showcases comics and pop culture

Comic and pop culture fans, many portraying a multitude of characters, packed the exhibition hall to obtain celebrity autographs, visit with comic artists and purchase merchandise during the Fan Expo Chicago Saturday at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

From Spiderman to Bugs Bunny and everything in between, there was something for everyone at the event. Celebrities included William Shatner from “Star Trek,” Mark Hamill from “Star Wars” and Marisa Tomei, known in part for her Oscar-winning performance in the film “My Cousin Vinny” and a guest appearance on “Seinfeld.” Tomei also plays Aunt May in several of the latest “Spider-Man” franchise movies.

Those attending the event in elaborate costumes found themselves to be at the center of attention with other guests and happily posed for group photos, particularly in the area of the front foyer.
