Hoffman Estates holding electronic recycling and document destruction event Saturday
The village of Hoffman Estates, in partnership with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC), is hosting its free annual recycling drop-off and document destruction event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 24 at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road.
This free event is for SWANCC residents only; no business materials will be accepted.

Accepted electronic materials include cell phones, computer components, MP3 players, fax machines, televisions, satellite receivers and more.
To prepare for a document destruction event, paper must be dry, clean, and loose; clips, sleeves and binders should be removed; paper must be in no more than six paper shopping bags or cardboard boxes.
The village also will accept textiles and small household goods, expired sharps and medications, fluorescent and CFL light bulbs, batteries, printer cartridges, latex (water-based) paint, quart containers for $2.99, gallon containers for $5.99, and five-gallon buckets for $19.99.
