Elote Festival returns to Round Lake Beach Aug. 23-25

The Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center and the village of Round Lake Beach have announced the annual Elote Festival starting Friday, Aug. 23, and running through Sunday, Aug. 25.

The family festival will take place on the Round Lake Beach Village Grounds at 2007 Civic Center Way and will feature a variety of food trucks, refreshments, and a three-day carnival. Admission to the three-day event is free, but additional costs are associated with rides, games, refreshments and food.

Festival hours are 5-11 p.m. Friday, 2-11 p.m. Saturday and 2-9 p.m. Sunday. Parking for the event is available at the Round Lake Beach Metra Station at 680 Civic Center Way, directly next to the event.

Entertainment will be provided on all three nights. Friday night will feature the Elote Queen Pageant at 6 p.m. Latin Dance Night will take over at 7 p.m. with La Sonora Dinamita at 8 p.m. Saturday the lineup includes Nanucos at 3 p.m., Salsavera at 6 p.m., the Round Lake Area High School Band at 8 p.m. then Grammy-nominated recording artist

at 9 p.m. Sunday’s highlights are Banda La Enkantadora at 3 p.m., Tumbao at 4:30, Hip Hop artists Too Hype Crew at 6 p.m. with the EloteFest Musical Light Drone Show to close out the fest at 8 p.m.
