Glow in the Park Lantern Walk to benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital

Join the Glen Ellyn Park District and Charlie’s Corner Foundation for a magical evening at the Glow in the Park Lantern Walk on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn.

This community event promises a night filled with fun, entertainment, and an illuminated walk around the lake, all in support of the neonatal intensive care unit at Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Kick off the evening with live music by Tres Moustache, and enjoy face painting, a balloon artist, a bubble show, lawn games, and an inflatable obstacle course and slide.

Kids and families also can meet their favorite superheroes and princesses, thanks to the League of Enchantment.

At 7:15 p.m., witness or participate in the glowing paper lantern walk around the lake, kicked off by the Glenbard West marching band.

You can decorate a lantern on-site for $10 (while supplies last) or bring your own pre-decorated lantern to join the walk.

Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the evening from Heavenly Hot Dogs and Kona Ice.

This event is free and open to the public. While admission is free, cash donations to Lurie Children’s Hospital are encouraged to support their ongoing efforts.

For those who want to get a head start on the fun, lantern kits (including a paper lantern shade, LED light, and carrying stick) are available for pre-purchase online at gepark.org/register for $10 each.

Kits can be picked up at the Main Street Recreation Center until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13. Proceeds from kit sales benefit Lurie Children's.

Join in this enchanting evening that combines community spirit, family fun, and support for a great cause. All ages are welcome. For more information, visit gepark.org/glow.
