Hoffman Estates to dedicate bench in memory of late village trustee Michael Gaeta

The Hoffman Estates village board will honor the memory of the late Trustee Michael Gaeta with a bench dedication outside the front entrance to Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Gaeta served on the village board for more than a decade before he died while in office in May 2023 at the age of 86. The community is invited to attend the dedication ceremony.

“Trustee Gaeta was a wonderful man who cared deeply about the village of Hoffman Estates,” Mayor Bill McLeod said in a news release. “He worked tirelessly on behalf of residents and businesses to ensure that safety, well-being, and success were always top priorities.”

Boston cream pie and German chocolate cake — two of Gaeta’s favorite desserts — will be served at village hall following the dedication ceremony.
