Give thanks, give baskets with Palatine Township’s Thanksgiving Basket Program
Palatine Township Outreach Department is preparing for the annual Thanksgiving Basket Program which provides approximately 1,000 families with the ingredients needed to make a traditional holiday dinner.
Registration is open for donors through Nov. 1, on the Palatine Township website. Registration allows the township to plan the number families who qualify for the program.
Donors shop and fill a basket with nonperishable food items needed to prepare the meal, along with a grocery store gift card that is used to purchase a protein and fresh produce ($25 is suggested). Baskets can be delivered to the township between Nov. 11-21.
If shopping time is limited, please consider participating in the Gift Card Program (donating gift cards, no larger than $25 denominations) or make a tax deductible donation to the Palatine Township Needy Family Fund.
This program is made possible by generous donors and the volunteers who put in countless hours sorting and distributing the baskets. Visit Palatinetownship-il.gov to see a full list of suggested basket contents and to donate.
