House fire in Huntley displaces five residents
Five residents of a home in Huntley were displaced after a Sunday evening fire left the house on the 10900 block of Heartland Lane uninhabitable.
Firefighters responding to the fire just before 6 p.m. reported heavy smoke and fire engulfing the rear of the two-story, single-family home.
High winds hindered the attack and accelerated the fire’s intensity, allowing it to spread to the attic. It took firefighters nearly 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The residents found alternate housing with family and friends, fire officials said.
