St. Sophia’s to hold fall Greek food fest to benefit hurricane recovery
St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Elgin will hold a fall Greek food fest on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25 and 26, with proceeds going to hurricane relief efforts.
The festival, put on by the St. Sophia philoptochos (which translates to friends of the poor), will feature food, drinks and vendors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. both days at the church at 525 Church Road.
The food menu will include gyros, Greek chicken, spanakopita, pasticcio, baklava, Greek salad, avgolemono, galotobouriko, rice pudding and more. Carryout orders can be placed ahead of time at stsophia.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/135/responses/new.
