Landtrust Title Opens new location in Gurnee, expands services in Northern suburbs

Landtrust Title Services, one of the fastest-growing title agencies in Illinois, has announced the opening of its new office in Gurnee, and the addition of Tony Zielinski as the firm’s vice president of sales. To accommodate its expanding business in the Lake County suburbs north of Chicago, Landtrust has also hired title industry veterans Rosa Castaneda, Barb Laitinen and Sandra Rowland to staff the Gurnee location. This marks Landtrust’s second location in Lake County; the firm also has an office in Vernon Hills.

“At a time when the real estate market is experiencing a lower volume in transactions, Landtrust Title Services has seen our closing volume increase as we continue to grow our business and invest in our future success,” said Steve Kaempf, senior vice president of sales at Landtrust. “The addition of the Gurnee office speaks not only to the strength of the Lake County market, but it also reflects the reputation for excellence Landtrust has been building throughout the greater Chicago region.”

As vice president of sales at Landtrust, Zielinski leads the sales team and develops new attorney partnerships while cultivating opportunities in the Chicago area. He brings 20 years of title industry experience, including leadership positions at major underwriters and companies such as Stewart Title, Fidelity National Title and North American Title.

“In the short time he has been here, Tony and his team have already made a significant impact on our growth across the areas we serve,” Kaempf said. “The strength of our sales operation, which effectively communicates our exceptional level of service, is one of the reasons Landtrust is performing so well in a challenging market.”

With nearly 25 years in the industry, Castaneda joins Landtrust as an account executive. Fluent in Spanish, she currently serves as the 2024 President of the Lake County Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Laitinen, who brings more than four decades of experience to her position, also joins as an account executive. The team is completed with Rowland, who will continue her long-standing role as a closing coordinator.

“Establishing a physical presence in this region of Lake County with an office staffed by well-respected title pros like Rosa, Barb and Sandra enables Landtrust to meet the needs of agents, attorneys and their clients in the area with even greater convenience. This team’s experience and established relationships in Lake County enable us to enter the greater Gurnee market with even more confidence from existing and new clients,” Zielinski said. “And given the anticipated increase in transactions expected with mortgage rates trending down, having this additional Lake County office situates us well for the overall boost in business expected across the industry.”

Landtrust Title operates 15 physical locations in Chicagoland and handles a growing volume of online notarizations. One of the leading title service companies in the country, Landtrust is ranked by Fidelity in the top 10 among 1,020 title agencies in the Midwest, and 57th out of 5,300 nationally.
