Elgin ranked as seventh fastest-growing city by SmartAsset
A financial technology company ranked Elgin as the seventh fastest-growing city in the United States.
SmartAsset analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data to create the list of the top 610 cities by population growth and ranked Elgin at number seven, with an increase of 8.36% from 2022 to 2023 and 7.13% over five years.
Elgin was also one of five cities to see their working-age population (ages 20-54) increase by over 15% that year, ranking third at 16.08%.
