Naperville Parade of Lights to honor Special Olympians
The Rotary Club of Naperville will be honoring local Special Olympians from the Naperville area as the grand marshals for this year’s Parade of Lights at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.
“During the Paris Olympics, there was extensive coverage of athletes who were Naperville natives. The Rotary Club of Naperville decided to celebrate our local Special Olympians who also make us proud of our hometown,” said Jacque Clermont, president of the Rotary Club.
Mayor Scott Wherli and his family will join in honoring these remarkable athletes, adding to the excitement and community pride at this year’s event.
The parade is set to step off near Centennial Beach at 7 p.m. Floats will make their way down Jackson before heading north on Webster and then west down Van Buren. The parade will come to a close at Van Buren and Eagle.
Pre-parade entertainment will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the broadcast stage located at the corner of Webster and Jackson streets. Learn more at www.NapervilleRotaryParade.org.
“The Holiday Parade of Lights is a ‘Parade with a Purpose,’ with all net proceeds benefiting local nonprofits that support our community in meaningful ways,” Clermont said.
For those who wish to support the cause directly, donations can also be made by texting “give” to (630) 580-1644.
Enjoy a magical evening filled with hometown pride, holiday lights, and community spirit.
