Meet Chicago Northwest offers a list of holiday lights, events, and pop-ups

Meet Chicago Northwest offers a lineup of festive holiday happenings across Chicago’s Northwest suburbs.

This winter, residents and visitors can enjoy holiday light tours, along with a variety of holiday-themed pop-ups and events for all ages.

Notable holiday-themed experiences include dining at Scratchboard Kitchen’s pop-up concept Scratchboard Chalet, and photos with Santa Clause at Woodfield Mall and Home Alone inspired pop-up at Cortland’s Garage.

Festive holiday lights, a cherished tradition in the Northwest suburbs, will illuminate the season with dazzling displays and photo opportunities across numerous towns. Each town offers holiday-themed light displays, perfect for strolling past or driving through, creating a magical experience for all.

Holiday lights can be enjoyed at these locations throughout the region:

• Arlington Heights: Harmony Park and North School Park

• Elk Grove Village: Elk Grove Park District Pavillion

• Itasca: Unsher Park and Itasca Country Club

• Rolling Meadows: The Rolling Meadows 1950s Museum

• Roselle: Village of Roselle Police and Fire Department and Turner Park

• Schaumburg: Volkening Lake, Town Square and Al Larson Prairie Center of the Arts

• Streamwood: Police Department and Veterans Memorial campus

• Wood Dale: Wood Dale City Hall

In addition to holiday lights, numerous businesses and restaurants will be hosting holiday-themed pop-ups and events. Events include:

• Cortland’s Garage: Through the month of December, join Cortland’s Garage in Arlington Heights for a pop-up bar inspired by the cult-classic Christmas movie Home Alone. • Scratchboard Kitchen (Through Jan. 1): Midwestern sourced and scratch made restaurant in Arlington Heights, Scratchboard Kitchen, is transforming into Scratchboard Chalet, a ski-chalet inspired pop-up throughout the holiday season. • Westin’s Elf (Through Dec. 29): A Buddy The Elf Pop-Up Christmas Experience at The Westin in Itasca will welcome guests to dine in an Elf-inspired wonderland, including Walter Hobbs’ apartment, Gimbles and an interactive Claus-O-Meter that family and friends can enjoy alike.
