Schaumburg Library invites community to read and discuss ‘The Violin Conspiracy’
This year’s One Book, One Community read at the Schaumburg Township District Library is “The Violin Conspiracy” by Brendan Slocumb.
Patrons can check out one of the library’s more than 400 copies and read the same book together, sparking conversations about it and its themes. It’s a new way to bring the community together to talk about family, music, racism and perseverance.
The kickoff event will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at the Central Library. Be among the first to grab a free copy of “The Violin Conspiracy” and the special age-appropriate book picks for kids — perfect for getting the whole family involved.
Throughout January and February, there are many opportunities to further engage with the reading experience.
Mark your calendars for “An Afternoon with Brendan Slocumb” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. Register early to secure a seat. The event is open to all. Visit schaumburglibrary.org/one-book for all the details.
