St. Charles Chamber of Commerce hires new director

The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce has hired Rebecca “Becky” Greenlee as its new executive director.

The chamber board has been searching for an executive director since former Director Deborah Gurley’s retirement in October. The new hire was announced in a news release.

Greenlee’s first day was Monday. She is a resident of Burlington and has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most notably with the Grand Victoria Foundation in Elgin and the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois.

In her most recent role, Greenlee served as the first executive director of the Kaneland Foundation where she grew charitable donations by more than 150%, according to the release.

Chamber members are encouraged to stop by and welcome Greenlee as she gets acclimated to the city in the coming weeks.

The chamber also plans to hold two virtual town hall meetings in the near future as an introduction to chamber members and to provide updates on recent progress. More information on those meetings will be announced in upcoming chamber emails.
