Chili for Charity event to raise funds for Elgin schools
The Elgin Knights of Columbus Council 654 will host their 27th annual Chili for Charity fundraiser from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Thomas More gym, 1625 W. Highland Ave. in Elgin.
It features all-you-can-eat hot dogs, chips, salad, milk, and all the chili your stomach can handle. In previous years, there were over 45 different types of chili entries.
Kids can enjoy face painters, magicians, and balloon artists. There also will be 50/50 and other raffle prizes.
Each year, about 600 to 800 people attend and they are hoping to break that record this year.
Donations are $10 at the door or $9 in advance. Monetary donations are welcome. Proceeds of the event will benefit all Elgin Catholic schools, Elgin Soup Kitchen, and other religious educational programs.)
For tickets, contact Marshall Spangler at (847) 606-1605 or m.span50@yahoo.com.
