Buffalo Grove police launch transparency hub

The Buffalo Grove Police Department this week launched of a new Police Transparency section on the village website, available at vbg.org/pdtransparency.

The page features an Incident Map that allows visitors to view selected calls for service beginning Jan. 1, 2025, as well as a representation of police activity across the community.

The page also links to a weekly police blotter, so the public can stay informed on recent police incidents, arrests and more.

“By incorporating the latest technology into our operations, we aim to make information more accessible and foster trust with the community,” Chief Brian Budds said. “This new initiative reflects our commitment to transparency and our ongoing efforts to ensure that citizens and the media are informed and engaged with the work we do.”
