Elgin church invites community to Lenten worship and fellowship

Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Elgin will recall Jesus’ public ministry before the sacrifice of his life during the six weeks of Lent on March 9 to April 13.

The church invites all to hear his teachings, be strengthened with Holy Communion, and invited into friendship at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.

The organ prelude and announcements begin at 9:20 a.m. Children are welcome in worship; members also provide a guided nursery/Sunday school experience for early childhood play and learning.

Christ the Lord is an Elgin congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It’s located at 12N462 Tina Trail, just off Highland Avenue on the lands of the Potawatomi, Sac, and Fox Native Americans.

The church is handicapped-accessible, all on one level, has audio assistance, and is a Reconciling in Christ congregation led by Pastor Phil Tryznka.

Time for coffee and refreshments and scheduled special speakers or events follow worship about 10:30 a.m. More information is available at ctlelgin.org.
