Westminster Christian, Harvest Christian Academy partnering to launch a new independent school

Two leading Christ-centered schools in Elgin, Westminster Christian School and Harvest Christian Academy, are embarking on a new chapter.

Through a shared commitment to academic excellence and biblical discipleship, the schools are uniting to establish a new independent school, set to launch in fall 2026.

This partnership, unanimously approved by the Elder Board of Harvest Bible Chapel and the Westminster Christian School Board, marks a transformative step forward in strengthening Christian education and expanding the Kingdom of God.

A vision for excellence

By combining the strengths of both institutions, the new school will:

• Enhance academic programs with expanded course offerings, including advanced placement and college preparatory options.

• Expand extracurricular activities, including athletics, fine arts, and leadership programs.

• Strengthen financial sustainability, ensuring long-term affordability and growth.

• Deepen spiritual impact, providing a Christ-centered environment for students to grow in faith and character.

A blessing for families and the community

For students, this partnership means greater opportunities for academic and spiritual growth, increased mentorship, and a vibrant learning community. Parents can be confident that their children will continue receiving an education rooted in biblical truth while benefiting from the combined resources and expertise of two exceptional schools.

Additionally, the new school will actively partner with local Bible-based churches, reinforcing its mission to equip the next generation of Christ-followers for leadership and service.

Next steps

A dedicated Steering Team has been established to guide this transition over the next 18 months.

Both schools will continue to operate as usual for the 2025-26 school year, while behind the scenes, the foundation is being laid for a seamless transition. Families will have access to FAQs and regular updates to ensure transparency and engagement throughout the process.

“This is more than just a name change — it is a God-led opportunity to unite strengths and create a powerful legacy of Christian education,” said a joint statement from the school boards. “Together, we are stronger in faith, stronger in mission, and stronger for the future.”
