Sister Cities Association of Palatine/Palatine Farmers Market present check to American Legion Post 690

On March 6, Marg Duer, founder of Sister Cities Association of Palatine and the Palatine Farmers Market presented a check to the Palatine American Legion Post 690 in appreciation and gratitude for their support of and participation in the Farmers Market and for their contribution to Palatine’s heritage.

The American Legion is a distinguished landmark in Palatine, offering a venue for family and cultural events, organizing the Memorial Day observation, participating in parades, providing military honors for family events, and, most valuably, lending their support for military men and women.

Similarly, on March 3, Sister Cities Association of Palatine’s past President and Farmers Market comanager Pierre Jabeneau presented a check to the Palatine Historical Society in gratitude for their support of and participation in the Farmers Market, and for their dedication to preserving the village’s rich heritage by documenting Palatine’s history in photographs, articles and events, and through maintenance of the Clayson House and fine collection of artifacts. The Palatine community and visitors from all over appreciate their architectural walks, special open houses and cemetery tours, and their invaluable resources for residents now and in the future.

On March 13, Marg Duer also presented a check to the Palatine Garden Club in appreciation of their support and participation in the Farmers Market and for stimulating Palatine’s interest in horticulture and native plants. The second and third Saturdays of the Palatine Farmers Market in May benefit from their labors, thinning their gardens and organizing their local plant sale. The Palatine Garden Club always add a bright beginning to the Farmers Market season.
