Yard waste stickers no longer needed in Hoffman Estates

Stickers will no longer be required when yard waste collection resumes Tuesday, April 1, in Hoffman Estates.

The sticker requirement was eliminated as part of the village’s new contract with waste hauler Groot.

Acceptable yard waste includes: paper landscape bags, not to exceed 50 pounds; brush bundles, not to exceed 50 pounds, 5 feet in length, 24 inches in diameter and no limbs greater than 5 inches in diameter; resident-supplied rigid plastic containers, not to exceed 50 pounds or 32 gallons; or a yard waste specific Groot toter cart, which can be rented for $30 a year or $2.50 a month.

In addition to yard waste, residents using their own rigid plastic container or a Groot yard waste cart may include organic food scraps for composting. Organic compost waste will not be accepted in paper landscape bags.
