Historian brings 1893 Chicago fair to life at Glen Ellyn program

Join Chicago architect Daniel Burnham, director of works for the 1893 Columbian Exposition, for a relaxing day at the fair with the Glen Ellyn Historical Society.

Experience the grandeur of the Columbian Exposition and learn about its origins, exhibits, politics and people involved in creating Burnham’s White City with historian and actor Terry Lynch on Saturday, April 12.

It will begin at 2 p.m. in the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main St. This program will lead you through the history of the “Windy City” and its transformation from the “Wild Onion” to the “City of Big Shoulders.”
